I've been reading about vampires, and how amazing they are. I've done my research, and I've been compiling some pretty awesome books since reading Twilight for the 20th time in Nov. 2008. Most of these ideas came from lists around the internet and in magazines, and personally, this is how I rate them:
MUST READS - VAMPIRES
Vampires, Burial and Death: Folklore and Reality - by Paul Barber
American Vampries: Fans, Victims, Practitioners - by Norrine Dresser
Vampires Among Us - by Rosemary Ellen Guiley
In Search Of Dracula: the History Of Dracula and Vampires - by Raymond T. McNally & Florescu Radu
Vampires and Vampirism - by Montague Summers
TOP TWILIGHT-LIKE BOOKS
1) Night World Series 1, 2, and 3 - by Lisa J. Smith
It only has a few stories about humans and vampires falling in love, but these books were made in the same general story plot and conflict as Twilight, but mixed in with great description, seducing characters, and mysterious darkness, it certainly is one of the best books!
2) Perfect Chemistry - by Simone Elkeles
The conflict is similar to Twilight, and many of my friends rate it as tied with Twilight, maybe even better
3) Wings - by Aprylinne Pike
When I heard that Stephenie Meyer had reviewed this book as, "A stunning debut for a promising author" or something like that, I HAD to read it, and I found it to be amazing and so much like New Moon with the conflict like Edward vs. Jacob for Bella!
4) The Notebook - Nicholas Sparks
The main character in this book has lots of love and depth for his wife, and that's what makes it so much like Edward and Bella with their never ending adoration for each other.
5) Dracula - by Bram Stoker
This is for people who have a large range in their vocabulary. If not, then you might wanna pull up a dictionary.
